How do you add an evaluator or request to add an evaluator to your course?

To add another instructor for a course evaluation, please follow the guide below.

Go to your Canvas course and navigate to the "People" tab located in the course navigation menu towards the left.
Once in the "People" tab, navigate to the "+ People" button in red towards the right hand side of the page.
In Add User(s) by area, select Login ID and add the instructor's College of the Redwoods issued email. You cannot add users by any other email.
For Role, select "Evaluator". This makes a distinguished difference for staff and allows the user not to make changes to your course.
Once you select "Evaluator", click on next and confirm the user. Some users may have multiple accounts (like a CCC Training account or CVC), select the College of the Redwoods account or the account with a @Redwoods.edu email. Click on "Add User" to add the user to your course.

Important things to note:

As faculty, you cannot add students to your courses. Students are added only by SIS uploads on a daily basis. If you have issues with student enrollment, please contact the Admissions and Records officer directly and do not use this as a reference for adding students to your course.
If you add an evaluator for your course for a course evaluation, please pay attention to when evaluators need to be added by and when they need to be removed.
- You as the instructor are responsible for adding and removing the evaluator. If you do not remove the evaluator, they are enrolled in your course until removed.
- If you add the instructor as a "teacher" rather than an "evaluator", they will be able to make changes to your course.
If you are struggling with adding the evaluator to your course, you can submit a ticket at help.redwoods.edu (addressed to Canvas/Online Learning) with the evaluation kit contract, with the start and end dates clearly labelled, the course ID, and instructor you are adding.
- Only the instructor on file can add the evaluator, evaluators cannot add themselves to the course or request to be added.
